Old City Comedy Alive Again in Downtown Knoxville

Old City Comedy at Old City Entertainment Venue Every Tuesday
When I started this blog it was shortly before I closed down my first comedy production attempt in Knoxville.  Old City Comedy was a stand-up comedy show held upstairs at Patrick Sullivan's (pictured in silhouette to the left in the logo). From January 2010 until September 2010 Old City Comedy happened on the first Thursday of the Month.  In September we did our last show and parted ways with Patrick Sullivan's and the show went dormant.  Not long after that Pat Sullivan's closed down for good.

Earlier this year J.C. Ratliff started talking about starting a weekly show back in the Old City so I was quick to offer up the name Old City Comedy since so much time had been spent getting the word out about it.  We are excited to see the event come back to the Old City with renewed fervor and elevated interest.  The show is free, and it features traveling comedians as well as open-mic performances. It happens every Tuesday at the Old City Entertainment Venue located at 118 S. Central Street across the street from Old City Java.

Last night we were blown away by the amount of support that folks showed the comedy scene with 60 in the crowd and 14 taking the stage at The Upstairs Underground Show at Preservation Pub. Also we had nearly 40 attend the first eXiled Comedy Show at Club eXile in Bearden DIRECTLY after that.  Comedy started yesterday at 8pm and ended at nearly Midnite.  Tonight's Free Cheese and Comedy Show is not to be missed, but Tuesday's Old City Comedy is the show to look for this week.  Please click this link to RSVP on facebook and to get more info on Old City Comedy.
